Naomi Misora is a fictional character in the Death Note franchise, depicted as a highly skilled former FBI agent and the fiancée of Raye Penber who comes closer than almost anyone, besides L Lawliet, to uncovering Light Yagami as Kira.. Naomi Misora is a supporting antagonist in the first half of Death Note, and the main protagonist of the 2006 prequel/spin-off light novel The Los Angeles BB Murder Cases. She is a former FBI agent, who resigned in anticipation of marrying her the fiancée of agent Raye Penber. After Kira kills Raye and the other twelve FBI agents assisting L with his investigation in Japan, Naomi begins her.

Just had a thought while rewatching this iconic scene: while the dramatic effect of it all is amazing, I do find it a bit odd how Naomi seems almost catatonic after the DN takes effect.
