The AU-505 was still in the Product Line in '74 but by then Sansui was making other models: AU-7700, AU-6600 etc. (The AU-505 is listed in Oct '74 Audio, page 41 to be exact but power is given as 16W which is a typo. The rated power is 23 Watts (8ohms) both channels driven (25W each chan, 70W IHF power at 8 ohms , 90W IHF at 4 ohms).. The AU-505 is a solid state performer that belongs at the head of it's class. No other integrated amplifier in it's class can touch Sansui's AU-505 for tonal quality, versatility, ease of operation and economy. Offering luxurious performance at a modest cost, it comes across as the best buy in it's price range.
