Educate Me on The Shaker 500 System. 2007 - 2014. Jump to Latest. I've done a fair bit of research on this and I have been an amateur car audio enthusiast for over 25 years. In short, there aren't any/many options that don't include full aftermarket systems. The only aftermarket solution that I am aware of that was offered specifically for.. The Shaker 500 sounds much better. The stock unit has little bass compared to the 500. That said, the stock, 500 and 1000 are somewhere between low-fi and mid-fi. I have the 500 and will replace the system as soon as there are more options for the 8" door speakers. It is not bad at modest volumes. The standard system sounds weak.
