A few weeks ago my '04 SV650N ran out of gas after going 175 miles on a tankful. The low fuel light first came on at 135 miles. I'd been riding hard and fast, but I was still surprised because that averaged only 38.89 MPG for 4.5 gallons of gas. So, on my last tankful I decided to see what kind.. I find my fuel economy to be very right hand dependent. At 100 to 120MPH I typically get mid 30's for fuel economy At 80 - 100 I average around high 30's low 40's Sub 80 mph I typically get around 45 to 48 mpgs. When I first got the bike after a 35 yr hiatus from riding I got better than 50mpgs but that was due to getting reacquainted with riding.
