Altec Lansing Review Must Read This Before Buying

When I see it referenced as just "Altec" Or "Altec Valencia" it typically means vintage Altec speakers or other Altec gear (see, I just did it). I have a pair of Altec Valencias; I should try plugging them into a laptop headphone jack. I bet that would actually work. Then I could call them Altec Lansing :). Sakar has the Altec license basically for Bluetooth speakers and headphones. They are excellent products for the money; the deliver better audio than most, are extremely rugged, and they float. Other products under the Altec brand are licensed to other companies that are rarely seen. I sold Voice of the Theaters and 871's back in the 70's.

Altec Lansing is kinda mid-range at best. I've had some of their speaker systems last quite a long time. Thing is, the sound quality is mediocre as is the case with most computer speakers. An old stereo receiver with a couple monitor speakers and maybe a subwoofer would be your best bet for both sound quality and longevity.. Based on the data we are seeing, we think we can give Altec Lansing a solid to good brand rating. While it's clear they have some issues and aren't the best, customers do appear to like certain traits about them enough for consideration. At least in the case of the under $20 speakers, you might be getting some good value out of them.
